Hand-hammered tray origin

I'm looking for information about this hand-hammered and hand-engraved metal tray. I believe the metal is aluminum although the tray is quite heavy. I'm leaning toward aluminum because of the color and the rolled edges. The design looks Middle Eastern or south Asian in origin, but I'm interested to hear if anyone can provide details on origin or age. Thanks for your thoughts.

Agree with the others, Indo-Persian style, made in either India or Pakistan in the second half of the 20th century. My guess is Kashmir, and it is a beautiful piece.
    Not Qajar though.

I apologize. With the holidays, I failed to monitor the replies to my inquiry. Thank you for your replies. Is it a reasonable assumption that the material is aluminum? It's quite heavy, but it is more silver in color than brass.

    No.:D
It is brass. Brass is an alloy of mainly copper and zinc, sometimes other metals or minerals are mixed in. The colour depends on the mix, for instance if it has more zinc, it will become more silvery.

No, that would be something I've never done. A new opportunity to learn!
