A friend's bowl. We'd like to see if we can get any info on this bowl.
Its ornate and hand painted with gold also.
No marking on the bottom, or anywhere.
Can you folks help me identify?
    Thanks

Similar to the "icing decorated" pieces, produced in Italy, Bohemia, and Japan. The style was popular around the middle of the last century and a little after. It is unlikely you will be able to determine where it was made, much less who.

Welcome PeterAllan - I've never seen one of these with a crystal footed base. Very nice.

Thanks for the response. "mid last century".. 1950's eh?

Well, since its not remarkable, I suspect she'll want to sell it.
What price tag would you put on it?

Prices can vary according to where you are and how you plan to sell it.

    Garage sale? On line? booth?
    City? Rural? High income area?
All of these things play a part in how you price.

I know... another factor is shipping cost. Canada has high parcel postage costs...

I suspect we'll try it locally on CL or something like that and we'll start with a price around $ 25.

    I'll post here our results.

    Thanks to all.

Good luck. Amethyst is a desirable color.
