    Hi Everyone,

Would anyone know the maker of these hand painted plates? They have English, Scottish and Northern Ireland scenes depicted. They are also jeweled on the edge along with gold hearts.

    TIA!

Cabinet plates. Smart money says English, since who'd export porcelain to Stoke on Trent? (Coals to Newcastle isn't in it)

Those would've had me licking my lips a number of years ago. Like OBB, I think Coalport, possibly, but could be another Staffordshire maker. Look closely for any impressed marks on the base.

Thanks for the feedback. I only see a couple of numbers impressed, e.g. "1 7" and nothing else. I assume that's the code for the blanks.

Under closer inspection, I found an impressed mark that looks like initials "L B" Any thoughts who/what this might be (perhaps by Copeland)?

It looks like "L8" from here, possibly the design of the porcelain shape.

Good quality plates. I once sold one with this burgundy ground. It was by H & R Daniel. I think this is a bit later. Brown Westhead Moore & Co? Ridgway? I think Minton or Coalport would be marked.

I recently sold a scenic plate. It has a paragon mark on the back. I couldn't find anything similar and wondered if it was decorated retrospectively by a third party. The writing on the back is remarkably similar to yours

I think Ridgway is a possibility. Thank you for the feedback.

Hard to nail these down to a specific maker it looks like, since there was a lot of similarity of the non-maker's mark markings. Thank you for the photos!
