Hand Painted Tiles Plaque Of Mosque

    Any idea of the location? I guess I will have to take them out of the frame to see the whole signature.

    I'd leave them undisturbed, it is a modernish decor item. Possibly a souvenir from Cyprus.

    Maybe you are right but I am still curious about the signature and the possible marks on the back of the tiles. Most likely will open the back.

    Well, cannot see the back of the tiles because they are glued to a panel but the place is mosque of Uskudar, Old Istanbul. Not sure which one, maybe the Mihrimah Sultan Mosque?
    The artist is Batu.

    I was in Istanbul a year or so back, and there was a lot of this sort of thing in souvenir shops.
