I found this while on my travels in Scarborough last month. There is a MIND charity shop a little bit out of town towards the castle. It doesn't seem overpriced like some and is worth the extra walk.

Sone kind of dressing table tray, with hand painted panels. Continental perhaps? It looks a bit amateur ish but there is definite quality to the painting. The underside is a bit rough and is not glazed.

    It's 40cm long.

I don't think this is a very old bowl. The 2 paintings are gorgeous.

There appears to be some "restoration" of some of the gilding. It's a tray for something -- breakfast set? I'm guessing late 19th/early 20th c. Wish there was a mark -- might've been on the items the tray held.

I’d suspect dressing table set. That pink is often French.

Not sure about restoration. Definite wear to it. A mark would have been great. Google has nothing similar..

In the photos, some of the gilding (especially the bow) looks brighter, shinier than other gilded parts.

Thanks kentworld. Makes more sense after reading Bear's post about the color and French. The color of pinky/purple is not one I am familiar with , thanks Bear. The paintings are great. I am not familiar with a dresser set that would have no rim on the bottom but I do also think it's a dresser set. The bottom looks so clean.

The base has no glaze on it so raw ceramic. I think Porcelaine de Paris used that pink a lot. I usually associate that gorgeous blue/green colour with French ceramics.

Yes that is why I mentioned how clean and with no rim. I'd expect a bit of dirty dust from a dresser top, or old felt on the bottom. Especially without a rim. I am also of the thought that it could have been a home ceramics piece beautifully painted by a housewife.

I'd say dresser tray except for the wildlife theme. You most often see pheasants associated with dinnerware but it seems too delicate for that. It's very lovely
