    Well, the first character is “nine” which IIRC refers to nine valleys and is associated with Kutani. My feeling is that this is fairly recent production.

    Yes, it is Kutani, the mark reads "九谷". I would not call it a reproduction, just a modern tokkuri with printed decoration.
