Handpainted Swan - Unknown marks - MV?

    Hi. Any idea what brand this might be? Measures about 2 1/4 inches tall and almost 2 inches wide. It might say MV and I don't know what else. Not sure if it's for salt, toothpicks or just display. Thanks! swan1.jpg swan2.jpg

    I keep looking at this swan and thinking Portugal... I would think it would be marked, however.

    Maybe not, but still, I see similarities in the painting to some of the stuff I have, like this:

    Yes, indeed, faience. (Also, Portuguese faience often has a Persian influence.)
