Featured Hanging incense burner? With bellows.

    Hello

    please help me with what this is called. I am assuming its for incense rather than a candle? But i don't understand this bellows set up.

    Has some marks underneath, looks fairly modern? 19cm diameter

    The mark on the right appears to be the tughra of Mehmed VI, last ruler of the Ottoman Empire / Turkey. I think this would date your item to 1918-1922. Not sure exactly what it is though. Interesting piece!

    That makes sense...except for what appears to be the candle holder(or incense holder) is in the top/lid?

    I think it is on the bottom/base piece:) The photo showing the candleholder thing is when the lantern is collapsed - if you look closely you can see the white paper through the diamond shape cut-outs

    I think it may have oil burnt in it rather than candles.
