The plant is thistle, I think, so perhaps Scottish?

The copper tubing doesn't have anything to do with it, right?

Couple more odd things - no handle? and only a very small opening on top?

It's not really shaped like a typical tea pot either. The spout emerges from the body too high up and the vase-like silhouette is too narrow. Very puzzling.

Funny, I was thinking it was a bur oak:)

It's a hairy acorned type of oak. There was a tree dropping hairy acorns outside my daughter's apartment so I guess it was on my mind. The acorns on her tree turned out to be a different variety but I sure looked at lots of acorn pics.

I do think the coffee pot is more likely to be thistles, they are much more common.

The stand is not original to the pot. Correct, there is no handle.

That's a new variety for me!

And the variety I was looking for turned out to be even odder. It was a sawtooth oak that has similar acorns but leaves like a chestnut. Learn something new everyday:).

This teapot/coffee pot looks sort of Asian in shape to me but it might just be I'm imagining it with a bamboo handle. So far I've not found anything quite like it.

I agree - that chain appears to be an afterthought. The 2 little places for the handle to attach are very much like Asian style.
