Has anyone seen a ring like this? Gemstone ID help please

    Hi everyone,

    I'm looking for any info on this adjustable ring. Does anyone know what type of stone this could be? It feels like something in between glass and plastic... The metal is not stamped. I'm assuming there's some type of patina applied to it because it will not clean up when I polish it.

    It's japanned. Those sort of woven rope rings are 1960s and 70s usually.

    Stone looks like smoky quartz.
