Discussion in 'Art' started by Elizabeth Brushia, May 12, 2024.

  1. I narrowed down this scroll to that of the Hashan temple. Anymore information would be appreciated.

Just for context (which is always helpful) -
"Hanshan Temple, is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Gusu District of Suzhou, Jiangsu, China. It is located at the town of Fengqiao, about 5 kilometers west of Suzhou's old city." - Wikipedia -

How did you make the association?

  4. I actually just narrowed it down by a print i matched that had the same painting and dialect at the top… so I guess that was wrong too:/ thanks for the info

  5. I misunderstood you gave me additional information about it.. I was questioning what the additional information I could not find printed down the side was. Possibly the dynasty or artist?

Google translates the text on the left side (on the mounting cloth) as -

"Li Xikang Hanshan Temple South Shenpin Peak"
