What is the safest way to pack a vinyl record that doesn't have a sleeve or box? Are we still allowed to ship music by Media Mail? Thank you for any suggestions.

Do you put that into a box or an envelope?

depends on the value of the record !
If it was, I'd use a thin sheet of plywood....

    Yes with media.
A well oversized box. 3” or so all sides.
I’d sandwich it with good, firm bubble wrap then sandwich that with medium soft foam all the way to the box perimeter.
Snug so it can’t scoot around.
    But not too much pressure.
Styro pellets or pillow bags above and below.
    Photograph every step.
Seal it well so it can’t pop open.
Use regular packing tape then strapping tape.
Media may be slow and could get handled too much and Priority can’t cost much it’s so light.

I'd use a harder foam....as old records were heavy thick vinyl ....and tended to be sharp on the rim...
