Featured HEAVY, CAST IRON(?) CAT - DOOR STOP? PART OF WEATHER VANE?

    I found this today at a thrift store - what is it?
    I first thought a door stop - it is very heavy, but the screw holes in the base, the EXTRA long tail, as well as how thin it is (looking straight on)- made me think it may have been part of a weather vane?
    And if it's something else entirely I wouldn't be surprised; it is different from anything I've seen before!
    Any info would be appreciated!

    Ah - it is probably a boot scrape.

    OH, that is so cool - has the bottom been milled to sit flat? As a pattern maker I see it was a split pattern, Cope and Drag , mold line goes straight down the middle. Nice casting!
