Heisey Picket Basket

    Looking in Bredehofts' Heisey Glass 1896-1957 book, there are several variations of the Picket basket, though this gold trimmed one isn't shown and I assume it was sent elsewhere to be decorated. Book's measurement says 8". Is that the height? The basket I have is 10 1/2" tall to the top of the handle.

    By the way, I'm really impressed with the clarity (colorless-ness?) of this glass!

    Yeah, eight inches is across the basket, lenghtwise. Nice basket.

    The clarity of Heisey glass is what impresses me the most, to me it's a sign of quality. If you moved this basket back and forth in front of my eyes, I would likely be hypnotized by it. So lovely!
