Hello. I have had this mask for some time now. I was always curious about its origin and history.

    mask00.jpg mask01.jpg mask02.jpg mask03.jpg mask04.jpg mask05.jpg The mask is approximately 11 inches wide, 16 inches long and the beard is approximately 11 inches long.

    It is not a tribal style that I recognize. The red and black colors, at least, look like acrylic paint. And the woven portion of the beard looks machine made. It might be an unraveled length of old upholstery webbing made of hemp or jute. So it might be a piece of folk art rather than anything tribal.
