    Hello everyone,

My name is Brian and thank you for letting me join your community. I already posted in the Furniture Forum about some chairs that I received so I decided to make my introduction here as well. You are all so friendly. Thank you for that.

I live in Phoenix and have my entire life. I am a woodworker that started out turning wood and mainly bowls. I still turn but have started branching off and doing other things well, including furniture. I have slabs of wood that are drying and destined for tables and benches and such. I have a few chairs that I have acquired as well and will be restoring them. Nothing too old, but good practice none the less. If you would like to see more of my work, I have pictures listed at

It's a pleasure to meet all of you and thank you for the invite!

    Hi, Brian, welcome!
I would love to learn how to turn wood bowls but don't have the space available in my garage for the necessary equipment. ;)

Welcome. One of my treasurers is a wood turned bowl from Nova Scotia. The artist spoke of his love for wood in the same way you do.

This link didn't work for me. I removed the all and it worked, but couldn't see all your pieces. Hopefully, others will be more successful.

I am sorry to hear that the link is not working for some. Try:

@KikoBlueEyes Having a bowl from Nova Scotia would be amazing. There are some species that grow up there that just don't down here. I really love the cherry and walnut trees that grow in the Northeast. I fell in love with wood. It has a warmth that no other material has (they all have their own beauty). Also, no two boards are ever 100% alike.

    Welcome Brian!

Too bad you weren't where I live a few years ago. Between the Halloween blizzard and the hurricanes that blew through, Connecticut had more downed trees.... You wouldn't have needed to buy wood for anything for a decade.(LOL)
