Hello, would appreciate identifying tray!

    I need help identifying this tray I found. I can't find much information on it. I would greatly appreciate it :)

    Hard to tell from your photograph but those are typically described as vintage Japanese lacquerware but are often plastic.

    I defer to all above-first knee-jerk impression was Couroc- but just a quick impression,plus I think all Couroc was well-signed.

    Looks like plastic Maki-e style to me. These were made a lot in Japan in the 1960s-70s, maybe later too.
    Very attractive, but unfortunately not worth much afaik.

    Agree re dates. The circular motifs are mon or Japanese family emblems. You can learn more here. If you want to take the trouble, they can be identified through a Google Images search. Here's one, for example.

    Huh. Seen the stuff, but never heard of maki-e ware. Learned my something new today.

    The black stuff with lovely red gold carp shows up quite often here and sells well. I like it.
