Help-Can anyone Date & Provenance Old Purse Fabric Fragment ?

    Can anyone help date & possibly theorize as to where this purse piece was made ? It's roughly 5" by 7" and is sewn on a piece of tissue.Gracious thanks for any input. Purse1.5.jpg Purse8.jpg Purse3.jpg Purse5.jpg

    Late 19th from the colours, and I think gros point. These were often made to fit a frame which a woman would buy. Looks wool.

    Thanks Bear.Gros Point is one size larger than Petit Point ?

    My mama used to do tapestry and gros point work, so it's stuck in my head!

    My Lady used to do Petit Point when our eyes were younger-I'll post one sometimes.Good Petit is exquisite.
