Help!! Does this come apart?

Does anyone know of this hutch comes apart? The woman selling it shows a pic of a seam going across. Someone said to have her check the drawer and look up to see if it's hollow or solid. She said solid. I was also told to check to see if there are screws going up through the back of the drawer. I just want the bottom part. Does anyone know?

HAHAHA!!! Sniped by inh!!!! Good job!! Looks like the top is curved or a 'bonnet top' (if that's what I mean?), but I'd say definitely it has to come apart....just below the glass base........

Nice piece but I really have to wonder how it is that the person selling it (in what looks like a house not a store) doesn't know whether it comes apart or not. Every hutch with glass above that I've ever made the acquaintance of came apart at just about the place Aquitaine described.

I agree that it probably comes apart. The trim around the bottom of the top is either attached to the top OR it is applied to the top of the bottom for the top to set in. Have seen them both ways.

ESetterlover - You seem to be deleting the quotes of the posts you are replying to but that makes it hard to follow. Looks like what you have typed in reply was posted by someone else.

So you want to know whether "it's glued or screwed together" right? By the usual logic, if something is glued together it does not come apart. No? But whether it's screwed together or the top is just sitting on the bottom piece is impossible to say without being there.

Frankly, I can't imagine what the owner is going to do with the top after she sells you the bottom. But that's not my problem or yours.

It's been years since I've chatted in this form. Too bad this isn't on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
The woman is selling it whole. I would have to take it apart. And hope the bottom part can be used.

Not all of these hutches come apart.
So if she says it's one piece then it probably is.
It wouldn't have bolted down. The top would just sit on top of the base. It would be too heavy to shift. No need to bolt it.
