Hi, I am looking to try and find out who made this. I have looked and searched online but to no avail.
I was given this by my grandmother a few years ago and have just come across it after a clear out.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

It’s pretty typical of Benares made brass.

Agree, Benares ware, from India. Benares is now called Varanasi.

You didn't mention the size, but I guess it is pretty small? Unfortunately it has a lot of verdigris. Best not store it close to other brass objects.

You could try sticking it in a bowl of vinegar for a while. That can kill the verdigris.

True. When cleaned the verdigris will probably leave dark spots in the brass, but at least the process will be stopped.
