Hello, DeadlyDead. This is not "old" and not silver. Cast pewter would be my opinion. I have a set of cast pewter "measuring spoons" (an old spoon would not be marked with it's measurement) that one of my sisters gave me sometime in the 90's. Came with a wooden rack for hanging and I still have the little brochure that came with. Made by The Tin Woodsman Pewter Co, of Eugene, Oregon. Not saying yours was also made by them, but I am certain of the general time frame and material .
