Help ID age of a dining table and chairs

Hi, we also purchased this dining room table with removable leaf and 8 chairs. (2 of which are captain chairs) We did refinish the seat cushions after we first got them from the antique store. Anyone have any idea on age or history of this set?

 

Have you looked underneath for any markings? I imagine close-ups are going to be helpful for the furniture folks too.

 

not all antique stores........sell only antiques....

 

I know it's pre-1950 and that's all I know. I'll have to climb under it or get a kid to and look for markings. Too heavy to lift it up or turn it over.

 

Check under the chairs too (and not such a heavy lift)

 

The style is Chippendale, guesses mid 20th century, looks to be good quality.

 

It looks like a good sturdy set, meant to be used rather than take up space and earn bragging rights for the crazy price you paid.

 

Nice set. As others said, Chippendale style and 20th century. Still being made today so hard to say how old yours is. Look for that label. Some brands were quite pricey. A Baker set I priced out for a client was over $30K in the early 90s.

 

Ah, those halcyon early 90s.
