    Lars Erik Karlsen (born January 29, 1948 in Trysil) is a Norwegian visual artist. He works with woodcuts in multicolor printing, and performs all steps in the printing process himself. His works are figurative, but also have abstract compositions. His art is characterized by the landscape of Lofoten and seabirds. He is best known for his puffin motifs.

    Karlsen was educated at the Norwegian School of Crafts and Design in Oslo (1969–1973), and has decorated several public buildings. He lives and works in Svolvær.

    Karlsen has composed the song "Karlsøy i Troms", which was popular during the song wave in Norway. He has also set the tone for other people's lyrics

    Maybe he composed that song?

    I just counted the plate colors. ;)
