Help ID cenent looking sculpture

    My friend gave me this to see if I could identify it. Couldn't really find much but maybe I wasn't putting in the correct words. It lookd to be made up of some type of sand material. It could be just hobby lobby decor but thought I would get opinions. Thabks for any info!

    Meant to say sand in the title not cement

    Looks too well made for big box store decor item. Wonder if it might have a scientific purpose.

    Interesting; I'm wondering if it might be carved from granite? or possibly sandstone? As an art/décor object.
    Or an ancient bracelet. Depending on the size.
    What are the dimensions?

    Measures 18 in tall ( thats including the bottom of the base to the top of the sculpture) and 12 in wide. The 12 in wide is the size of the actual sculpture.

    if it were some valuable treasure ...i wouldn't stick a metal rod in it.........

    There was a fad for stone & shell specimens mounted this way in the early 70s. Can't imagine how this could have been formed in nature though.
