Lehner's shows this mark plus 2 others (perhaps all for the same maker) on page 45. All they say is "...on semi-porcelain ware of a much later date, taken from dishes." I *think* the "much later" refers back to the preceding marks which were mostly for companies with a Bennett name doing business in the late 1800's.

Hi! I have 2 plates from this company, but I have no idea how much to ask for them. Plus, I don't know the exact data of fabrication. 72970896_408575879826898_6965073426549571584_n.jpg 73458907_687351408439213_1427833573720719360_n.jpg 73190180_545875875972539_1283273053370843136_n.jpg

Hi Andrea - your plates look like they would fall into the dates that janetpjohn provided above. They are more likely to sell based on the decoration as opposed to the Bennett attribution. Asking price would depend on how quickly you want to sell and the venue where you wish to sell. For a fast sale on ebay I would probably list the pair with a starting bid of $19.99 and hope for the best. But if I'm willing to wait a bit I'd be more likely to ask $20 apiece on Etsy, Ruby Lane, or in a mall with the understanding I may have to reduce the price at some point . Please remember that prices are always subjective so this is JMHO.

I also have a piece with the same markings. It was dug out of a hill side on Catalina Island where the city dump is and back in the early 1900s maybe late 1800s they would just throw at the glass a pottery off the cliff into the ocean

Il Duce was a name used by the Edwin Bennett Pottery Co. of Baltimore, Maryland before going out of business in the 1930s because of the depression. The pottery was in business from 1846 to 1936. Some of his dinnerware was very Art Deco in style. He liked red florals with black leaves. Also orange flowers with green leaves. Quite flashy.
