I was curious to know what these dragon metal blocks were used for? They look chinese. They are pretty heavy as well. Thank you for any information

Is the size right for bookends? Size? Do you have more than 2?

My guess (and this is ONLY a guess) - scroll weights. Although honestly I don't think they're the right shape for it.

Did a bit of poking around.

    Voila!

    Bronze, dragon scroll weight:

On closer inspection of the original photographs, I think maybe that IS what they are. Of course, measurements would make it certain, but just going by the scale of the blocks in the photos, compared with hand size, etc...

...yes, I'd say they're a pair of scroll weights. And very nicely decorated!

Not sure. It didn't come with any measurements, but it was one of a pair of scroll weights.

Ok I have them in person. They measure 5 1/2 inches wide. 3 1/4 inches tall. 2 1/2 inches thick. They weigh 5 pounds and 2 oz on my scale.
