Featured Help ID material on old purse clasp

The material on this purse clasp is very pretty, in an orangey red color, opaque/cloudy look. It is not fluorescent, so not amber, and it is negative for bakelite with simichrome. Not plastic, hard like a stone or glass. Any ideas? 20190324_102658.jpg 20190324_102847.jpg 20190324_102641.jpg

Glass meant to look like carnelian would be my guess.

The shape would be called bullet cabochon.
