"The painting of the prayer hall came from the well-known painter Elieser Sussmann, son of the cantor Schlomoh Katz from Brod , who among other things the synagogues in Bechhofen , Horb am Main , Unterlimpurg at Schwäbisch Hall and decorated Kirchheim near Würzburg. Of this synagogue, the Colmberger is the least known. David Davidovicz writes: "For some reason, the Synagogue of Colmberg is not much mentioned in the artistic work of Eliezer Sussmann, and the fact that the interior of the little church of Colmberg was also painted by Elieser Sussmann was written by the Jewish painter Max Untermayer-Raymer in his article 'German Synagogues', which was published in 'The Menorah Journal', New York, Issue 1, Vol. 25, 1937.
