What is this wooden box with weird opening on top? Waxy wood....

    A picture of the whole thing would also help. Almost looks like a trout creel but I don't see an opening in the top. Does it have carrying straps?

    It has a hinged "flap" door on the top,photo too fuzzy to see what is coming out of the hinge hole.

    Of course, it is a picnic basket with a nifty bear resistant locking mechanism.:playful: Let's see if you can open that, you....:bear::D

    I was trying to figure out how to open that little 'top' so you could drop your trout into a creel - looked like it would have to be a very small fish - LOL

    that would work except I don't usually catch many sardines. maybe a cross between a creel and a picnic basket so I could carry my crackers with me? :D
