I found these 2 pieces at my local thrift store today, but I can't make out either artist's name.
The first looks like W. Wolcott, maybe?
The 2nd piece (a rare, hand colored etching - by a Hungarian artist - according to a strip of information on the back)
Any help with who the artist's are and/or thoughts on the pieces themselves, would be greatly appreciated!

PS - Yesterday I went to the grocery store & after as I started to drive home, I went by a thrift store I used to go to all the time but haven't been to in over a year since I started going to a friend's thrift store at 6am each day because he gave me first look at everything new coming in - and asking I went by I decided to run in quickly (since I had frozen foodin the car!) & see if I'd find anything .
Boy did I!! I found a RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America - they tell how many songs/albums, etc and artist sells) plaque for Britney Spears 4x Platinum sales (+4,000,000!) of CD's and Cassettes of her 3rd album release 'BRITNEY' - and it is signed by Britney Spears!
I got that one for $19.99 & the only one I've found for sale has a $5,000 asking prices- and does not have Britney's autograph!
Hoping my luck is still holding & 1 or both of today's finds are good too!
    Thank you!

The church in the first painting looks like the one in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

I love the Rumanian dancers on the Hungarian painting, probably my love of ethnic costumes and dance.;) Looks like quite a few Roma, certainly the musicians.

I didnt see facsimile anywhere, but mine does has the RIAA (Recording Industry Artists of America - the acknowledged company that tracks song sales AND the Off The Wall gold sticker on the back (who was the authorized maker of RIAA awards, plaques, etc - RIAA didn't make their own)
Here's some more pics that I didn't have room for in post.

When I looked at link everything was in a different language - Hungarian?
So mine is a copy of a known painting? Can you tell who the artist is, or how old it is?
I could try to call the gallery on the back & see if I can send them a photo - they should have a record of the artist, right?
    Thank you Marote!!

Based on the (Rumanian) site, the original is by Theodor Aman.
This is what the original looks like

I wasn't able to read the sig on yours. Angle and size of the pic makes it harder to read, but even with a bigger pic it might be impossible to read.
Contacting the gallery is a great idea.... but ... as they described it as "Dancers" (while the Rumanian site says the title is "Horă" [a traditional dance in Southeast Europe]) by "Hungarian artist" (instead of the name, and without mentioning it's a copy), whoever added that info on the back, didn't have a clue about the who, what, where and when. :(

It is also danced in the Asian part of Turkey where it originated, along the Black Sea coast.
The hora isn't danced in Hungary, and given the costumes the scene is Romanian, possibly Moldovan. Part of Moldova has a Romanian culture and a shared history.
At least two of the musicians are Roma of the Lautari clan, descendants of slaves who were designated as musicians. Lauta = lute, hence Lautari. Romanian Roma slaves were called after the profession they worked in for their Romanian masters. The slaves wore long white tunics, which you see on two of the musicians.

I don't know when the original was painted, but Romania was one of the first countries to abolish slavery, in the 1850s, if I remember correctly. This could have been painted just pre- or just post-abolition.

Any way to tell how old/new it might be?

It is a copy or print of a copy of an earlier work.
The first copy of the original, the Hungarian copy, was painted some time in the 20th century, before 1965, when the painter died.
Your copy or print was made after the first copy became widely known, or it wouldn't have been made. My guess is mid-20th century.

Thank you Any Jewelry; I got both for $45, so I'll probably just ask $50 if someone is interested just to move it, since it's not what the note on back made it seem!

Thanks - ps; I accepted $1,300 offer yesterday - I figured it was a fair offer & a great sale in less than 2 days (and especially since everything has slowed a lot since Trump's tariffs roller coaster!)
Thanks for info about checking for facsimile stamp!

It could be by a Hungarian artist, like it says on the back. We just don't know. The scene portrayed is also of dancers, so that is right.

But I don't see the press marks from an etching press. You have it in hand, do you see that? It is like an edge all around, the etching itself should be raised a bit.

There was an architect called Wallace Wolcott (two Ts unfortunately) who retired to San Miguel de Allende; architects like drawing buildings, and he exhibited a watercolour of Mexico as early as 1935. His wife was also an artist.
