Hello everyone, I bought two of these plates, or are they bowls or trays? They are quite heavy, 8" across with a 3/4" straight edge. I have tried to find similar ones online but have had no luck with image search. The designs are made of coiled copper/brass with a floral motif in the center. The bottom is covered in bright blue enamel. Are they Japanese or Chinese? Age? Purpose? The other one is identical but has a dark yellow background. Thanks for your help.

I'll guess Chinese. I sure like 'em!

Chinese-made for sure. THey may have been made to sit under ornamental flower pots at some point, but now they're orphans. Use as needed.
