HELP IDENTIFY maker of this brass letter opener

    DSCF0756.JPG DSCF0757.JPG DSCF0758.JPG DSCF0759.JPG DSCF0760.JPG DSCF0769.JPG DSCF0770.JPG DSCF0771.JPG HELLO ALL..AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP..THE FINISH OF THE BRASS HAS THAT OLD EARLY MARBLED LOOK...THE MAN IS THE GOD MERCURY...THE MAKERS MARK IS A PARTIAL..IT STARTS WITH BA AND GOES BLANK TILL THE END WHERE THERE ARE JUST THE TOPS OF LETTERS I CANT FIGURE OUT...IM HOPING THE BA HELPS..THE LAST FEW PHOTOS ARE ALL I HAVE OF THE PARTIAL LETTERS...THE LAST PHOTO LOOK AT BA THEN LOOK TO THE RIGHT AND YOU WILL SEE PARTS OF MORE

    The last part of the name is BRONZE ...

    The first part looks like BA _ _ _ _ (six letters).

    after the BA can you see almost the shadow of letters also what time period do you think this was made

    Looks like the first one after BA is a T, so BAT-something.
    It is an Art Nouveau design, and looks to be of the period, so late 19th-early 20th.

    Because Mercury/Hermes was a messenger, he was also used as a symbol for postal services, so a very appropriate subject for a letter opener.

    i was thinking..the only other brass ive had with this marbled finish from carl aubock...does anyone think there could be a connection
