    Hello,

Please help me identify and appraise these two urns that I got from my grandmom.

The urns are about 35 cm tall handpainted with flowers, dragons and some bird creature. They look and feel very old. No stamp.

    Thank you very much!

Those are ginger jars with flat rather than the more usual domed lids.

Pictures of the bottoms, even though not obviously "marked" can help in identification. Please take and post them.

The colorway is very "Imari" like. Japanese, as Komo has suggested, has good odds.

The bird is a phoenix. What looks like dragons are 'qilins', another type of mythical creature.

Yes those are Chinese Imari. Probably 17th century.

Thank you very much Debora and everybody else.

Hopefully I can make a good profit on them!

17th century ones have more detail and finesse in the decoration, imo, and less pitting. I would think these are 19th century.

Could you show us the base please?
And is the white as blueish as in the pictures?

They are almost identical to the one in the pictures. So at least 300 years old very cool. How much could they be worth in today's market? One of the jars have a big crack but the other one is in very good condition.

Yes those are. But yours is not. More like late 19th or early 20th Century.

OP's has conspicuously more white space than the 17th century examples.

No one on here can say FOR SURE exactly how old yours are simply by examining the photos. Before you list them as being 17th century, an expert should examine them in person. I tend to agree with others here that they are likely 19th century.

Unless Grandmom was very very very old, why do you think it's probable when there are surely more 19th century ones in circulation?

The crack severely reduces the value of that jar.
