Help identifying age, style, wood, maker, etc. please

    many help with this is appreciated trying to help a friend liquidate her mom’s estate

    Machined dovetails so after 1930 ! Value in todays market about $150.

    More like 1910, Empire revival.

    Do you know what wood it is? What would this piece be used for? I am clueless. My preliminary searches yielded nothing is it missing a top?

    How tall is it?
    We had a chest similar in style made of walnut.

    I didn’t have a measuring tape but this is low. Maybe 26” - 28”

    I am guessing mahogany that has been stripped. Would probably have been more red originally. The bottom 2 drawers are oak so the veneer has likely been removed from them.
