I asked in the other forum and one person said that it is likely that the gold leaf was placed over a blank mark on this serving tray by the person who painted it. They also stated that identifying the maker would likely be very difficult if possible at all. I want to list this and was wondering if anyone recognizes the scene, country, age, anything... It looks like a scene from the movie "Heidi", to me. Thank you for any help

The person in the "other forum" was correct about the purpose of the leaf - the decorating firm (unlikely an "at home" job) covered the mark of the maker of "the blank.) That is unfortunately the limit of what I can tell you.

Ugh lol, I was thinking I could attribute it to a certain country but I'd only be guessing...

I've had some success shining a bright light on the cover up mark and turning the piece until I could make out the mark underneath. Good luck trying it.

I feel like such a dummy. I was wondering why you said it was signed Haberer but that would be because it is on the front!!! I cannot believe I've had this sitting around and have looked at it so many times and missed that! Duh )@&^)$&%@ What a maroon lmao

Oh, boy; I didn't see that, either. I wouldn't waste any time trying to figure out the maker of the blank since the decorator is the only part that matters.
