The light, which is a beautiful geometric nouveau / deco bronze with frosted glass chandelier, seems to have a painted signature inside the canvas. Any help, or if anyone has encountered something similar and has information, would be great!

    Thanks

Welcome, rosav. It looks like there are 2 different lights from the pictures you attached. I cannot see how the "bronze" part (with dripped white paint) connects to the square shade. Nor can I see any "canvas" on which the signature is written. I think we need to see more pictures.

BTW - "art nouveau" is not geometric - but art deco is.

The canopy is most certainly for this light fixture, I've unscrewed it from the chain that attaches it to the fixture to show the signature or writing. I will add some more photos though to make things more clear.

Just uploaded more photos. I'm new to posting on this forum, so please let me know if there seem to be problems with the photos.

Those extra pictures certainly help. For future reference, here's some advice about descriptions and pictures. Write your description as if there are no pictures and take your pictures as if there is no written description. ;)

    And always give measurements.

Unfortunately I do not know what that writing says. Are you in Canada?

Inside the canopy? Signature may not have anything to do with the maker the way it is written. For what it is worth seems like a very nice period fixture and, likely, French.

Hi, can’t help ID but I just wanted to say if something is Art Nouveau, it is not Art Deco. They are two totally different styles and different periods separated by 20 to 40 years.
