Help identifying maker of Japanese cup with silver dot makers mark

    You mean that blob on the rim of the foot? That looks like a glaze blob, not a maker's mark, JMHO :)

  3. Hard to get a good picture of it but it’s an intentional silver marking

    Doesn't look like silver to me. How did you reach that conclusion?

    I also think Chinese is possible given the art work style of the horse.

  5. It’s silver in person, hard to get a good picture of it. The silver is shiny and looks like it burnt the cup around it when they applied it. It’s Hiragana Japanese letters from what I researched. Any idea on even a time period?

    He's in the style of the soma ware left facing horses, but it's not soma, and he's turned the other way! So helpful.
