Help Identifying Mark on Frog Vase

Discussion in 'Pottery, Glass, and Porcelain' started by finding_antiques, May 24, 2020.

  1. Hello Antiquers,

I was wondering if anyone was able to recognize the mark on the base of this vase with a tree frog on top. It is approximately 9.75", is heavy and appears well made. The mark looks like it could be CB - I found a similar looking mark here however am not familiar with American pottery an am unable to make any determination: https://themarksproject.org/marks/burt

I appreciate any help with regard to the mark or the origin of this one.

I don't think this is American made.
A lot of these bamboo pots with frogs were coming out of Vietnam. I don't know if that is where yours is from or not.

Hopefully, someone else will be able to confirm or deny Vietnam as country of origin.

Chamotte clay sort of precludes an Asian origin, more likely N. American IMO
