Help Identifying Oil Lamp?

New to the site. Recently acquired a oil lamp or possible a fuel oil container? I was wondering what exactly it is. There is a glass bottle shaped container that I believe would hold the fuel. This bottle is enclosed by a metal (nickle) frame with a wire mesh which is part of the metal enclosure but only covers the neck area of the bottle. At the top is a spout I think as it is held in place by a piece of cork.

Welcome. Looks like a miner's lamp to me. Is there anything in the base? Looks empty from that photo.
