Help identifying porcelain/glass lamp

    Hi all, would anyone be able to help identify this lamp - age / origin? It has no makers marks. It belonged to my grandparents. The character looks Chinese/Japanese, but I’m really not sure

    Id guess 1960s. Huge ugly lamps (no offense!) were popular then .

    Agree re date. And I suspect shade isn't original.
