    Hi all,

I’d really appreciate your help identifying a porcelain mark I’ve come across.
    Screenshot 2025-06-16 181131.png

It’s stamped on the back of a hand-painted 8" floral plate, signed by artist. The quality and style are similar to Limoges, and the porcelain appears to be high-grade.

    Does anyone recognize this mark?

I found what looks like an almost identical mark used on Austrian porcelain (last picture).

    Thank you in advance!

Interestingly I find the same MI monogram with the beehive mark and Austria.
But I'm sure one of our 'potties' can enlighten us.

    I can't enlighten you but I see a C and a O in the mark, so maybe M Co. or M C O?

Thank you so much for taking the time to look and share your thoughts! I also had been thinking along the same lines - possibly M Co. (or M I Co) - but I haven’t been able to find a definitive match (the one below is a different M.I.Co from ebay). I’ve already checked Kovels and some porcelain mark databases, but no luck so far.

I really appreciate your insight though! Thanks again!

Huh, looking at the Austria mark you posted along with the France mark, they are pretty much identical, so the same company operating in Austria and France? AI :rolleyes:suggests that the mark is based on the "miraculous medal," so perhaps the strong vertical mark is an "I" (possibly the first letter of Jesus which is often abbreviated to IHS, the first 3 letters of Jesus in Greek). Looking at various images, it seems that the Austria one is more common. I'm wondering if it was a decorating firm rather than a porcelain factory. Here is an image of a miraculous medal: upload_2025-6-18_9-37-29.jpeg

I'm wondering if this could be French export by Morimura Import Company before they set up their own production (basically before the green M Nippon stamp). Same for Austria mark...

I don't see anything that would make me think Japanese for your plate.

Not sure it's much help but there was a Limoges company called Charles Martin that used a mark with a CM monogram that looks a bit similar. Might be worth exploring as the company did sell white ware. Charles Martin whiteware decorated in Austria?

Thanks for the suggestion — I really appreciate it! It’s a good lead to keep in mind, though I haven’t found any known CM marks so far that match the large Gothic-style M on mine. Thanks again!
