    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Hi all,

Looking for some information on this scope and tripod please, any idea as to age or rough price? Can’t find anything identical online anywhere!

Maker is Lawrence and Mayo (on there very faintly)

It’s also in this gun box which obviously isn’t original, can’t also find anything similar case wise either! It’s William Evans (box in picture)

    Many thanks in advance

You’re Welcome, I resized them. Many people don’t like to click links. Someone will be along to look at your gun. Not my thang. :hilarious:

that's a big scope with a lot of wear and tear but the leather is still on it so someone must have cared for it well...

It must have a small field of vision , far down the road....but I'm not seeing a gun connection....unless an artillary or sniper spotter...

That may be my fault. I assumed it was gun related since OP was also asking about a gun case. He never said the scope was gun related. Sorry! :)

Overthehedge, Does the lens have any windage or elevation markings etched onto the glass? If it does it's possible a spotters scope? Looking at such a short tri pod I would think it would be used in the prone position?

Because of the type of tripod, I assumed it was a surveyor's instrument, which is one of the things Lawrence & Mayo make.

Michael77's good point about tripod being suited to someone working in the prone position does lend support to a military use.

my thoughts too.... prone & in the field....look at those spikes..this wasn't sitting on a table at a gun range !!

but I'm only speculating as this is a little out of my purview .....no pun intended !!! ;)

Oh I see, so the scope itself may not be angled? That’s a cover and lens holder? More photos might help.
