Help identifying signature on a portrait

    Hello all! Looking for help in identifying the artist's signature on the following portrait. Would appreciate any and all ideas.

    Pretty sure the 'artist' doesn't want to admit to painting this.

    I think this is a "factory " art piece. Probably 60s-70s.

    Oh yes, i know it is not antique, hence posting a picture of verso.

    I think so . This would have fit in a ghastly Spanish revival decor (think dark woods and crushed red velvet!)

    It does appear to be a decorative painting in which case the artist's name doesn't matter. The subject may have been inspired by something like this portrait of a bürgermeister. That burlap-like inner matting is often found on frames from the 1960s/1970s.

    I don't think it even qualifies as 'factory art', very poorly painted IMHO.

    The technique is impasto. A deliberate choice by the painter.
