    Hey all,

Picked up this small stool, ottoman (piano chair?) The tag is ripped underneath right at the name and can't find any info with the little details left - " Long Island City New York - Tables " Hoping someone can help me identify the maker. Also, any tips to to clean this type of leather?

    Thanks in advance!

Does the seat by chance come off? We have 3 identical to that and always thought they were vanity stools. Mahogany 1940's fits the description well.

1940 ish vanity seat. It has been recovered by an amateur. Very common, but still useful

Not leather. Vinyl or oil cloth. Rip it off and replace it with something more appropriate. Original fabric might be underneath.

The top is screwed down into the four corners and you can see the fabric peaking out underneath. Definitely can see it being a vanity piece. Are yours the same under?

Thanks for the reply! Do you by any chance have an idea of the manufacturer?

Thanks for your reply, here is a photo of closer details underneath. There seems to be a satin type floral fabric, do you think that could be the original?

Fabric looks pretty much like what ours have on them. As far as the manufacturer, there were quite a few different ones that made essentially the same thing.

Pulled off the top layer and the original fabric is in great condition!

    Much cooler piece now :)

Thanks everyone for all your help & input!
