    Pot metal,not silver. Maybe 1880 or so. Not worth buying really,its in rough shape plus theres very little market for silver plate.

    Possibility plated at best. Johnny is generally right about no market for silver plate.

    Worse, it has a big dent in the side. No joy in Mudville on this one I'm afraid, unless you just want it to sit around and look cool.

    I wasn't aware there was a market for silver plate! Last time I checked, it had completely collapsed.

    You can sell some of it. Sometimes. Depends on who made it and when.
