Hello anyone have information on this, it's age, make and value? There's an elephant marking on the back and looks like it's been repaired around there too. Thank you

Welcome to the forum @Seneca_one. Could we have a bit more information about the item? Size and where (country, state) it was found and anything else you know about it. In the future, it will attract the attention of folks with the best knowledge if you use more identifiers in your title, e.g. "Help with brass piece". We have lots of great people here with widely varied knowledge who are happy to help. Give it time, as people look in from all over the globe.

    Welcome, @Seneca_one.

Your piece looks similar to this object, which is a decorative finial on the stretcher of a "Louis XV style" table, dated to the early 20th century -

The back of your piece is a bit puzzling, however. I think it was originally designed to be seen in the round (viewed from all directions), as the handles are finished on both sides. It may have been cast in 2 pieces, and the back half is now missing. I would be interested in seeing the bottom of the piece, to see if there is any evidence of a pedestal base (like the example above) that is also now missing.

Huh. Looks like it is a half, but also looks like it was attached (screwed) to something, so maybe a half that sat flush to another surface (furniture of some sort?). Interesting elephant mark. Most of this type of thing I think is made in India, but not certain with this piece. Welcome to Antiquers!

It does look like something has broken off from the center of the base -

I suspect the bracket is a later addition, to adapt the (broken/incomplete) object to a new use.
