I have been trying to collect information on this lamp - the feathers are real and the shade made of silk with beautiful bead embroidery. But cannot find anything similar anywhere so far! Would greatly appreciate any help and tips.

    Nice looking little lamp, avant.
    • How tall is it?
    • Any markings on bottom of base?
    • Can we see a pic of the socket for the light bulb?
    • Can you tell what type of material it's made of (i.e. cast brass, spelter (pot metal), etc.)?

    Thanks for asking, sabre123!

I am including a picture of the socket (its wiring may have been replaced at some point, I am not entirely sure), and also a pic of the finial.

It is almost 18' tall - from the bottom to the finial.

Cannot see any markings anywhere. It seems to be made out of some metal (lighter than cast iron though) painted in gold, with some parts in green and black paint.

New modern import would be my guess.

Agreed. The light socket and wiring are new, as you suspected. Not that those items don't get changed out, but in this case, I feel they are true to the piece. It's a nice little lamp if you've got a place for it.

Looks like the ideal dust magnet. Heat of bulb causes airflow upward thru shade, feathers catch dust from the air. Tip: Use a cool-operating bulb so the dust-catcher won’t ignite.
