    Hello,

I have some vintage Wedgwood place settings pieces and having trouble determining the year of production. I have Googled and come across Wedgwood marking patterns, but have not seen this mark yet in any posting. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

    Best Regards,
    Cheryl

Can you confirm the letters/numbers in the 4 digit date code. Looks like it may be 1929.

6X29 is what I see. Google says that this Edme pattern was introduced in 1908 and was based on a Georgian design. It is still produced.

Thank you so much. May I ask what site you matched up the 6X29 to come up with the date.

    Best Regards,
    Cheryl

Cheryl, I am not sure it is 1929 but the 4 digit date codes have the year as the last two numbers.

But I would have expected the first digit to be 4, not 6.

    Just a follow up.

Godden indicates that from 1924 a 4 is the first of the 4 digit code but that from 1930 it changes so that 1A32 would be January 1932.

Your mark seems to be on the cusp of the date change so I suspect date is June 1929.

But I am prepared to be corrected ;)
