    This piece resides in our living room. It caught my eye at a local flea market. The vertical corners have alternating segments of ceramic tile squares and carved wood pieces. It is unknown if this is truly an antique or is actually a piece made in the style of an antique. The hardware and the wood on the back look quite old but the shelves seem too sharp on their corners to be really old. My wife loves it, but we would like to know if this represents a particular style, or is it someone’s one off creation? Thanks.

    Just my thoughts. And I can be entirely wrong at times.
    Wait for other comments.

    Tiles look Mexican.
    In the 1980s, they were selling remade cabinets of old wood. Brought up from South America and Mexico. I'm in California. Where are you located.

    It's actually a very nice looking cabinet.

    Yes. New-ish. From México in the rustic style. Very attractive/very handy.

    Curiously, it was purchased in Maryland. Of course, people move and take their furniture. The seller insisted I make an offer and so I did: $50. Thanks for the insight!

    The single pane door is unique.

    Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

    To me it looks repro, BUT VERY NICELY DONE!!!!!! NOT a run-of-the-mill piece!!! The tiles in it could very well be old!

    BTW, WELCOME TO ANTIQUERS, @Greenie-reddy!!!:):):)

    I would have to agree with the others. I have found Talavera tiles in just about every single appliance or fixture you can imagine...but did not come across any in a corner cabinet/cupboard. It is a very nice piece.

    Totally agree

    @Greenie-reddy
    You got a VERY good deal. Very attractive, doesn't matter that it is new if it suits your purpose. Which apparently it does.

    BTW - Welcome to our board.

    Those Cathedral style bottom doors are very pretty on the cabinet. Worth the $ right there in my opinion. Good find.
