    The picture is judged to be from Holland but has not been attributed to any artist.Any ideas?

    Looks like an Irish poacher, and the church tower is not Dutch.

    Given the fact that he's holding a shillelagh, I would agree with Irish poacher as a subject. Have you removed from frame to see if signed below?

    No I didn't..I didnt buy it yet ....not sure if they did so...but even though the Irish connection u suggested could be..but the picture might have some Dutch flavour to it..but not sure..

    Very well could be Dutch School of an Irishman, considering the guy depicted is a drunken brawler/traveler, a bit unflattering to Irishmen.

    Unflattering depictions of the Irish are usually an English habit, I don't think the Dutch would be much interested.
